What the ticket lets you see
According to our Panthéon guide, the ticket covers the nave, the paintings and the crypt where Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and Jean Moulin rest, as well as Foucault's pendulum. The dome panorama is closed for works: if an offer promises the "dome", check the date and what is really open before booking, and read the cancellation terms.

Official ticket: the default choice
The official ticket costs €13 from October to March and €16 from April to September (€13 on Wednesdays). Entry is free without going through the ticket desk for children under 16 accompanied by an adult, people with disabilities and their companion, and on the first Sunday of January, February, March, November and December; it is free with a visit to the ticket desk for 16-25 year-olds from the European Union and job seekers. If you fall into one of these categories, do not pay for a resold offer. See also the free museums in Paris.
Resold ticket: when it is worth it
A resold ticket with reserved entry mostly serves to book everything on one platform, or to have a slot when you come at a busy time (Christmas, Easter, the weekends of 14 July and 15 August). It gives no shortcut through the security check.
Guided tour
A guided tour makes sense if you want to understand the great figures resting in the crypt, the story of Sainte-Geneviève or Foucault's pendulum experiment. Check the length, the group size and whether entry to the monument is included. The neighborhood suits a walking tour: see our Latin Quarter guide.
Pitfalls
- The dome is closed. Do not buy a "dome" supplement without checking that it is open on your date.
- Opening hours. Open every day from 10 am to 6 pm (6:30 pm from April to September), closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. Last entry 45 minutes before closing; opening at noon on the first working Monday of the month.
- Non-refundable ticket. Some resold offers cannot be cancelled: read the terms.
- The Paris Museum Pass. It is accepted; compare with the comparison of Paris passes if you visit several monuments.
Which option to choose?
- Tight budget or free entry possible: the official ticket, or free entry if you qualify.
- High season, you want a guaranteed slot: a ticket with reserved entry.
- First visit, a taste for history: a guided tour.
- Several monuments: the Paris Museum Pass.
After the visit
The Luxembourg Garden and the Musée de Cluny are a few minutes' walk away, as is the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont. To avoid queues, aim for opening time. See also booking ahead in Paris.
