The three clubs at a glance
| Club | Address | Hours read | Atmosphere |
|---|---|---|---|
| Caveau de la Huchette | 5 rue de la Huchette (5th) | Sunday to Thursday 9 pm-2:30 am, Friday and Saturday 9 pm-4 am | vaulted cellar, dance floor, described as the oldest jazz club still running in Paris |
| Duc des Lombards | 42 rue des Lombards (1st) | evening concerts, programme on its website | seated hall, drinks judged a little pricey by one guide, free jam sessions on Friday and Saturday according to that guide |
| Sunset-Sunside | 60 rue des Lombards (1st) | Monday to Friday 4 pm-2 am, Saturday and Sunday until 4 am | two rooms: the Sunside at street level, the Sunset in the basement |
How to choose
- Dancing and historic atmosphere: the Caveau de la Huchette, in a Latin Quarter cellar with a dance floor.
- Seated concert and international line-up: the Duc des Lombards.
- Open evening and discovery: the Sunset-Sunside, with two rooms of different moods (acoustic at the Sunside, more intimate at the Sunset).
Practical tips
Book weekend evenings, especially for headliners. Arrive a little before the concert starts to get a good seat. No strict dress code is published in the sources consulted: smart casual is usually fine. Concerts end late, so check your last metro or plan a taxi.
Completing the evening
For another kind of night out, compare our guide to Paris cabarets, or see the concert halls of Paris, which also programme jazz.
