What you see
The largest public collection devoted to Picasso: paintings, sculptures, ceramics and sketchbooks, largely from the heirs' donation. The 17th-century Hôtel Salé (grand staircase, painted ceilings) deserves a look. Last entry is around 5:15 pm according to a cultural listing. The museum is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours (our estimate). The first-Sunday booking rule is described inconsistently by sources: check the official site.
Tiqets or the official ticket?
The Tiqets skip-the-line ticket is the simplest way to lock a slot; it does not replace a reduced or free rate. The Marais is best done on foot: a food walking tour in the Marais extends the day (see the listing for the day's price), or visit the Musée Carnavalet, whose permanent collection is free.
