A taxi in Paris costs at least €8 a ride in 2026, and airport trips are flat-rate: Charles-de-Gaulle €56 (right bank) or €65 (left bank), Orly €45 or €36. Hailing a taxi on the street in Paris works a little differently than in other major cities: most taxis you'll see driving by are already occupied, shown by their roof light lit up in red. The more reliable option is to book through a dispatch center or head to a taxi rank, easy to find near train stations and along major streets.
Booking ahead
You can book a taxi for a specific date and time through the main dispatch centers: Taxis G7 (3607), Taxis Bleus (3609) or Alpha Taxis (01 45 85 85 85). A phone booking may carry an extra charge on top of the fare.
Tips
- Official 2026 fares (service-public.gouv.fr, order of 24 December 2025): minimum fare €8; maximum rates of €4.48 pick-up charge and €1.30 per kilometre; booking supplement €4 for an immediate booking and €7 in advance. Flat fares between the airports and Paris, in both directions: Charles-de-Gaulle €56 (right bank) or €65 (left bank); Orly €45 (right bank) or €36 (left bank). Waiting time and more than four passengers can add supplements. Fares are revised every year: always ask for the price before getting in and check the meter. Not all drivers accept bank cards, so carry a little cash.
