Chana Orloff Studio-Museum

In the Villa Seurat, near Parc Montsouris, the Chana Orloff Studio-Museum occupies the house and studio designed for the sculptor by Auguste Perret in 1926. Born in Ukraine in 1888, Chana Orloff died in 1968; she set up her studio here as soon as it was built. Around 200 sculptures, engravings and drawings are shown in the working studio and the exhibition studio, lit by large glass windows. The site holds the Maison des Illustres label and is run by the artist’s descendants.

The Villa Seurat

This cobbled lane in the 14th arrondissement was built between 1924 and 1926 as an artists’ enclave, with studios and houses with large windows. Take time to walk up it: Chana Orloff’s house and studio is at number 7 bis, on the odd-numbered side.

The entrance on rue de la Tombe-Issoire

The Villa Seurat opens at 101 rue de la Tombe-Issoire. A dedicated tour, “Chana Orloff and the Villa Seurat”, starts in the street and continues as a self-guided visit of the studios.

Tips

The studios open only on certain days: check the booking calendar and reserve a time slot, which is strongly recommended. A self-guided visit costs €12, or €9 at the reduced rate (students, under-25s, jobseekers, disabled visitors); the guided tour, led by a member of the artist’s family, costs €19 or €14. Entry is free for children under 12 (prices checked in September 2026). The studios are accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, except the mezzanine.
