The "l'Africain" hot chocolate at a glance
According to sources, the recipe uses cocoa from West Africa (Niger, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire). It is very thick, almost a cream: you drink it in small amounts, often to share. The rue de Rivoli room is the historic site, a short walk from the Tuileries Garden.
