Restaurants with a view: compared
| Restaurant | Where | Style and budget | Who for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madame Brasserie | 1st floor of the tower | Contemporary French cuisine (chef Thierry Marx), € € € | Dinner with the tower as backdrop, access via the visit |
| Le Jules Verne | 2nd floor of the tower | Fine dining, menus from about 200 euros, € € € € | Special occasion, couples |
| Café de l'Homme | Trocadéro, Palais de Chaillot | Refined cooking, € € € €; direct view of the tower | Sunset: book weeks ahead |
| Brasseries on rue Saint-Dominique / avenue de Suffren | 5-10 minutes' walk | Classic bistro, € € | Simple meal without a direct view |
Le Jules Verne and Madame Brasserie are booked online; access to the restaurant includes the Jules Verne private lift and the tower. The Café de l'Homme sells mostly the view: the terrace is the best table.
Where to eat for less
Rue Cler and its food shops, rue Saint-Dominique and avenue de Suffren offer bistros, brasseries and bakeries a few minutes from the tower, at prices well below those at the foot of the monument. A picnic on the Champ-de-Mars remains the cheapest option with a view. For a festive meal, see our guide to tourist traps in Paris restaurants and the comparison of fine dining in Paris.
Booking tips
- Book tables with a view weeks ahead, especially for sunset.
- Avoid restaurants that tout at the foot of the tower: menus in five languages, photos of dishes, tourist menus.
- After dinner, think of the evening cruise or the illuminated tower: see our page on the Eiffel Tower.
