The comparison at a glance

What you are really buying

Both neighbouring monuments on the Île de la Cité sell tickets online with a time slot. According to our guides, the official Sainte-Chapelle ticket costs €16 (EU/EEA) or €22, the Conciergerie €13, and the official joint ticket €23 (EU) or €30. The GetYourGuide combined ticket shows from €20: we could not verify which visitor category that price matches, so compare when you pay. What really changes from one offer to another is the guide.

Private tour with Notre-Dame

The most complete option: about 3 hours including Notre-Dame, a group of up to 7, transport included according to the listing, up to about $264 per person (October 2026, varies by date). We did not record a reliable rating for this listing. See the offer.

Private tour with entry

About 2 hours with a private guide, entry tickets to both monuments included, about $224 to $232 per person depending on the snapshot (one isolated snapshot showed $149: check when booking). One snapshot rates it 4.6 out of 5 from 26 reviews; one traveller found the guide full of stories. See the offer.

Group guided tour with Notre-Dame

Two hours with a live guide, from about $85 ($84 in another snapshot). One snapshot rates it 4.7 out of 5 from 858 reviews, guide 4.8 and value 4.5. The tour walks around Notre-Dame from the outside and enters the Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie with reserved entries. See the offer.

Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie combined ticket

The best seller, rated 4.5 out of 5 from 10,747 reviews, from €20. No guide: you visit on your own, with timed tickets for both sites. Travellers mention separate lines for on-the-hour and half-hour slots. See the offer.

What is not included and the pitfalls

  • The time slot is compulsory. Ticket alone or tour, you enter at the chosen time.
  • Security still applies. At the Sainte-Chapelle there are two queues: read the signs to pick yours.
  • Free entry. Free for under-18s and EU 18-25s, and on the first Sunday of some winter months; see the free museums of Paris. On a guided tour, you pay for the tour.
  • Notre-Dame. On the guided tours the cathedral is seen from the outside; one review notes there is no skip-the-line access inside.
  • Dollars and euros. Tours are shown in dollars, tickets in euros.
  • Opening hours. Conciergerie open 9:30 to 18:00 (last entry 17:30), closed on 1 May and 25 December; Sainte-Chapelle 9:00 to 17:00, until 19:00 from April to September.

Which offer should you choose?

  • Tight budget or independent visitor: the combined ticket, with our Île de la Cité guide.
  • First visit, you want to understand: the 2-hour group guided tour.
  • Couple or family wanting their own pace: the private tour with entry. See also Paris with kids.
  • Full day with Notre-Dame: the 3-hour private tour, small group.
  • Several sights in one week: compare with the Paris pass comparison and the Paris Museum Pass review.

Booking at the right time

Go as soon as it opens: the Conciergerie opens at 9:30, and the Sainte-Chapelle is most beautiful in good weather. Book a few days ahead in high season, and do the Conciergerie first late in the day, as it closes earlier. See also our Notre-Dame de Paris guide and booking ahead in Paris.
