The options at a glance
| Area | Access to the stadium | Strengths | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| La Plaine Saint-Denis | on foot or one RER stop | The closest | Business district, quiet at night |
| Central Saint-Denis / basilica | 15 to 20 min on foot, metro 13 | Basilica, market | More working-class |
| Gare du Nord / Paris 10th | RER B in 10 min | Many hotels, Eurostar | Trains full after the event |
| Montmartre / Paris 18th | metro 13 then a walk | Charm, restaurants | Further away |
After the event
When a match or concert ends, the RER B and D and line 13 are packed for over an hour. A hotel within walking distance, or patience (a restaurant or bar before heading back), makes the evening easier. Keep a ticket ready and see the RER B and RER D guides.
Saint-Denis: the basilica
The Basilica of Saint-Denis is the necropolis of the kings of France and is best seen in the morning before a train. For a hotel on the Gare du Nord side, see hotels near Gare du Nord.
For whom, and for whom not
Good for you: an event at the stadium, a departure from the north or from CDG airport. Not for you: if you are visiting central Paris for several days; choose a central area linked by metro.
