Chantilly

Not to miss

For the Stade de France, get off at Stade de France – Saint-Denis (be patient on match nights). For Chantilly castle, take a train towards Creil and get off at Chantilly – Gouvieux (then a 20-minute walk or shuttle). For Vaux-le-Vicomte, get off at Melun and take the castle shuttle.

Hours and tickets

RER trains run roughly from 5:00 to midnight, with differences by line and branch (last trains often between 23:30 and 0:30): check the branch timetable on ratp.fr or iledefrance-mobilites.fr. Inside Paris the 2.55 EUR Métro-Train-RER ticket is enough. For an airport, Disneyland, Versailles, Chantilly or a distant station you need an origin-destination ticket at the zone fare: check today's price on iledefrance-mobilites.fr and keep the ticket until you exit.

Works and disruptions in 2026

RER D had a full interruption between Paris Gare du Nord and Paris Gare de Lyon on the weekend of 12-13 September 2026 (over). I found no closure announced for November 2026: check Île-de-France Mobilités, which RATP names for lines C, D and E.

Tips

RER D trains are less frequent than RER A or B; check the timetable (every other train may stop before the terminus). Gare du Nord and Châtelet are pickpocket areas. For Chantilly, a TER from Gare du Nord is faster if you have the choice.
