Not to miss
For Disneyland Paris take the Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy branch (direction Chessy; check the display, not every train goes all the way). For La Défense and the Grande Arche, get off at La Défense; for the department stores, at Auber. Saint-Germain-en-Laye (castle and terrace) is a western terminus.
Hours and tickets
RER trains run roughly from 5:00 to midnight, with differences by line and branch (last trains often between 23:30 and 0:30): check the branch timetable on ratp.fr or iledefrance-mobilites.fr. Inside Paris the 2.55 EUR Métro-Train-RER ticket is enough. For an airport, Disneyland, Versailles, Chantilly or a distant station you need an origin-destination ticket at the zone fare: check today's price on iledefrance-mobilites.fr and keep the ticket until you exit.
Works and disruptions in 2026
RATP listed works on RER A from 1 June to 29 October 2026: Nation station closed from 29 June to 30 August, service suspended between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand – Mont d'Est from 8 to 23 August (replacement buses). Those closures were over as of 26 October 2026; always check weekend works on ratp.fr.
Tips
It is one of the busiest RER lines in Europe: avoid it at peak times with suitcases. A standard Métro-Train-RER ticket is not enough for Disneyland or distant stations: buy the right ticket (see tickets section) and keep it until you exit.
