Opéra Garnier

Not to miss

Opéra for the Opéra Garnier and the department stores, Pyramides or Palais Royal for the Louvre, Pont Neuf for Île de la Cité, Jussieu/Place Monge for the Jardin des Plantes, the Arènes de Lutèce and rue Mouffetard. Mind the fork: check the destination (Villejuif – Louis Aragon or Mairie d'Ivry) before boarding south of Maison Blanche.

Hours and tickets

First train around 5:30 on all lines; last train at the terminus around 1:15 from Sunday to Thursday and around 2:15 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays (2026 times taken from Paris je t'aime, an unofficial source: confirm on the line page at ratp.fr). Expect a train every 2 to 5 minutes during the day. After the last metro, the Noctilien night bus takes over. A single Métro-Train-RER ticket costs 2.55 EUR (fare from our general metro guide, to confirm on ratp.fr) and allows changes between metro lines; for several days compare Navigo Easy and Paris Visite.

Works and disruptions in 2026

No interruption of this line was confirmed in the sources read for November 2026. Weekend and summer closures are announced in advance at ratp.fr/travaux: check the day before you travel.

Tips

The Place d'Italie and Tolbiac area is closest to the 13th arrondissement's Chinatown: a good lunch option. In the evening the line is safe overall, but some northern stations (Stalingrad, Crimée) are quiet: prefer busy stations if you are alone.
