What you are really buying
Since March 2026 the Musée d'Orsay has required everyone to book an online time slot. A ticket sold by GetYourGuide is therefore not a shortcut: it is a dated ticket, like the one on the official site, simply bookable from one place. Our Musée d'Orsay guide gives the official price and opening hours. What really differs between the offers is the support you get: nothing, an audio guide, or a live guide.
Private tour with reserved ticket
The most expensive option, about $248 per person (seen in October 2026, it varies with the date and group size). Two hours with a licensed guide, entry ticket included, in a private group. The listing offers several languages, including French and English. One snapshot rates it 4.5 out of 5 from 62 reviews, with value for money scored lower than the guide. Other private tours exist, from about $299 to $567 per person. See the offer.
Semi-private tour, 6 people maximum (City Wonders)
Two hours on the big names: Monet, Van Gogh, Degas, Cézanne, Manet. The group is six people at most and the price starts around $94. One snapshot rates it 4.7 out of 5 from 91 reviews; the same listing also offers a cheaper larger-group option of up to 25 people. Check which format you are choosing when you book. See the offer.
Entry ticket and digital audio guide
At €28.32, the dated ticket comes with an audio guide as an app: bring a charged phone and your own earphones. Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 4,966 reviews, it suits you if you like to walk on your own while getting explanations of the works. See the offer.
Dated entry ticket to the Musée d'Orsay
This is the best seller, rated 4.7 out of 5 from 28,394 reviews, from €13. The "from" price probably matches the cheapest category: the official full price is €16 according to our guide, and we could not verify which rate the displayed €13 corresponds to. Check the category when you pay. See the offer.
Musée de l'Orangerie ticket
The Musée de l'Orangerie, across the Seine, houses Monet's Water Lilies. Its reserved ticket costs from €13.50 (4.7 out of 5, 7,302 reviews). It pairs well with Orsay if you want to see Monet in a single day; read our Musée de l'Orangerie guide. See the offer.
What is not included and the pitfalls
- The time slot is mandatory. Ticket only or guided tour, you enter at the time you chose.
- Security screening remains. A reserved ticket skips the ticket desk, not the security check or the entrance queue at busy times.
- Free entry. Under-18s and EU visitors aged 18 to 25 enter free but must also book a slot; see the free museums in Paris. In a guided tour you pay for the tour.
- Dollars and euros. Tours are shown in dollars, tickets in euros: the total depends on the exchange rate and the date.
- The audio guide. No device is provided: you need a phone, battery and earphones.
- The guide's language. It varies by offer; check it before paying.
- Closing days. Orsay is closed on Mondays, the Orangerie on Tuesdays. On Thursdays Orsay stays open until 9:45 pm.
Which offer should you choose?
- Tight budget: the dated ticket alone, then read the wall labels and the floor plan.
- First visit, you want to understand: the ticket with a digital audio guide.
- Couple or small group of friends: the semi-private tour of 6 people at most.
- Family or a group that wants its own pace: the private tour. See also Paris with kids.
- A Monet day: an Orsay ticket and an Orangerie ticket, along the route of in the footsteps of the Impressionists.
- Several museums in the same week: compare with the Paris pass comparison. For the Louvre, see our guided tour comparison.
Booking at the best time
Book a few days ahead in high season. On Thursday evenings the museum stays open later and the atmosphere is calmer. For the city's other sights, read booking ahead in Paris.
