The Impressionist works
The Musée d'Orsay houses works by great Impressionists such as Monet, Renoir, Manet, and Degas, for whom painting was above all about capturing the human figure within its everyday surroundings. To explore the museum's vast collection of Impressionist works, cross the ground floor, take the stairs on the left, and head up to the top floor of the building.
The clock
This clock sits on the interior wall of the main hall on the fifth floor of the Musée d'Orsay. It's a survivor of the former Gare d'Orsay railway station, having lived through different eras. Just imagining the millions of anguished and joyful glances that have fallen upon it makes clear that this is a work of art well worth the detour.

- Since March 2026, booking a time slot online is mandatory for every visitor, including for free entry (under 18s, EU residents aged 18 to 25, first Sunday of the month). The full-price ticket costs €16, or €12 for the Thursday evening opening. Visitors entitled to free entry must show proof at the door.

How to get there
The museum is located at 1 Rue de la Légion d'Honneur in Paris. The simplest way to get there is to take metro line 12 and get off at "Solferino" station.
