Orangerie Museum 2026: Tickets, Hours and Monet's Water Lilies
The Musée de l'Orangerie houses Monet's Water Lilies: tickets €12.50, open 9:00 to 18:00 every day except Tuesday, free for under-18s and on the first Sunday of the month. Home to Monet's Water Lilies, the Orangerie Museum (Concorde metro) is open from 9am to 6pm every day except Tuesday. Wedged between the Tuileries garden and Place de la Concorde, the museum lives up to its name: the building originally served to shelter the royal garden's orange trees through the winter. It owes its fame above all to an extraordinary collection, the large Water Lilies panels by Claude Monet, installed in two oval rooms designed specifically to display them. In the basement, the Walter-Guillaume collection continues the visit with paintings by Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse, Modigliani, and Picasso, assembled by art dealer Paul Guillaume in the early twentieth century.

The Water Lilies
This panel, more than 6 meters long, was painted by Monet between 1914 and 1926, in the final years of his life. It's part of the cycle the artist gave to the French State in 1922, just months before its unveiling.
The Oval Room
The two oval rooms, designed by architect Camille Lefèvre, bathe Monet's eight large panels in natural overhead light. It's one of the few Impressionist installations in which the artist himself approved every detail.
The Walter-Guillaume Collection
In the basement, the rooms recreate the atmosphere of art dealer Paul Guillaume's apartment and showcase his personal collection, a striking overview of modern painting.

Tips
- Book a timed ticket online before you come, especially in high season, to avoid the queue outside the museum; booking is mandatory on the first Sunday of the month, when entry is free. After your visit, stroll through the Tuileries Garden or head to the Musée d'Orsay, across the Seine. To follow the Water Lilies to their source, a day trip leads to Monet's house and gardens at Giverny, open from April to early November. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours for the Water Lilies and the Walter-Guillaume collection (our own estimate). How to get there
The museum is located at the "Concorde" metro station, served by lines 1, 8, and 12. Buses 24, 42, 52, 72, 73, 84, and 94 also stop nearby.
