Claude Monet's House and Gardens in Giverny: Tickets, Opening Hours and How to Get There from Paris

Updated on October 7, 2026

Claude Monet's house and gardens in Giverny, in the Eure department, are open every day from 1 April to 1 November 2026, from 10am to 6pm (last admission 5:30pm). An adult ticket costs €13 and the visit takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Claude Monet lived in this Normandy village, about 75 km west of Paris, for more than forty years and painted his Water Lilies series here. From Paris Saint-Lazare, the train reaches Vernon-Giverny in under an hour, and a seasonal shuttle then serves the village. To compare the train with a guided excursion, see our dedicated guide.

It spans the pond of the water garden, among the water lilies and greenery. It is one of the motifs Monet painted many times.
