The addresses
- Les Fondus de la Raclette: several locations, including the 14th (boulevard Raspail), the 11th (107 avenue Parmentier) and the 18th (19 rue Joseph Dijon). Guides quote on average 25 to 30 euros per person à la carte, and up to 35 euros in one. For the 14th, a weekday lunch set menu at 14.50 euros is cited. The street number on boulevard Raspail varies by source: check it.
- Le Refuge des Fondus, 17 rue des Trois Frères, 18th (Montmartre): known for its atmosphere, with wine served in baby bottles at big shared tables. One guide gives 20 to 30 euros per person, and a January 2024 review mentions a 29-euro set menu with kir, fondue and dessert. One guide notes the dishes are not the most memorable: you go for the evening.
- Le Chalet Savoyard, 58 rue de Charonne, 11th: cited for its menu of fondues, seventeen according to one guide.
Raclette or fondue?
- Raclette: cheese melted as you go, served with cured meats and potatoes.
- Fondue: a pot of cheese in which you dip bread. If you hesitate, ask whether the set menu includes both, and whether the price is per person.
Booking tips
- Book at least a few days ahead from Friday to Sunday.
- Ask whether the dishes are all-you-can-eat or à la carte.
- Plan a drink: white wine from Savoie goes with the cheese.
- To round off a food-focused stay, a food tour in Paris lets you taste cheeses, wines and local specialities.
