What you are really buying
A booked transfer means a price known in advance, a driver waiting for you and a car that drops you at the door, with no line changes while hauling suitcases. It does not replace the RER or metro if you travel light: our guide how to get from the airport to central Paris details the public routes. Much cheaper offers exist (shared shuttles around 23 to 28 euros per person, to Disneyland or within Paris 75), but we do not feature them.
Premium private transfer CDG (PARIGI)
The most comfortable option in the comparison: an E-Class or a V-Class van depending on the group, Wi-Fi on board, about $120 to $126 per group (the price is per vehicle). Rated between 4.6 and 4.7 out of 5 depending on the snapshot. Choose it with family, a stroller and big suitcases. See the offer.
Standard private transfer CDG (PARIGI)
This is the most booked offer: about $107 to $109 per group, 4.8 out of 5 from 1,114 reviews, 50 to 60 minutes' drive, 24 hours a day. For a departure, the pick-up time is set by default 3 hours before the flight. See the offer.
VIP door-to-door transfer CDG
One driver, about 35 minutes advertised and drop-off limited to Paris addresses (postcodes 75xxx), rated 4.4 out of 5 from about 595 reviews. The listing allows one suitcase and one cabin bag per person. We did not see the price: check whether it is per person or per vehicle. See the offer.
Premium private transfer Orly (PARIGI)
From about $112 for a group of 3, rated 4.8 out of 5 but from only 34 reviews. On arrival, the driver waits just 15 minutes after landing: warn them if your luggage is slow to appear. See the offer.
Shared shuttle Orly
The only per-person option: about $35, 3.9 out of 5 from 114 reviews, 1 h to 1 h 30 because the shuttle makes up to 3 stops. On departure, pick-up is 3 h 30 before the flight. It suits a solo traveller who does not want a taxi. See the offer.
What about the train, bus or taxi?
According to our airport-to-centre guide: from Roissy, the RER B reaches Châtelet-Les Halles, Saint-Michel or Gare du Nord in 35 to 50 minutes, regardless of road traffic; from Orly, metro line 14 reaches Châtelet-Les Halles in about 25 minutes. Buses and shuttles take longer at rush hour. Taxis have flat fares between each airport and Paris: ask the price before getting in (see taxis in Paris). A booked transfer is mostly worth it with luggage, children, a late arrival or a transport strike.
What is not included and the pitfalls
- Price per vehicle. The PARIGI offers are per group; the shared shuttle is per person. For the VIP, check.
- Limited drop-off. Several offers stop within Paris (75001 to 75020); outside that area, there is a surcharge.
- Luggage. One suitcase and one cabin bag per person on some listings: declare extra bags.
- Waiting. Extended waiting can be charged; beyond the planned time, surcharges apply.
- One way. Most offers are one-way only: book the return separately, allowing for the pick-up 3 hours before the flight.
- Child seat. Confirm before booking.
- Prices. Our snapshots are in dollars and vary between versions of the listing; the euro price shown when you book is what counts.
Which offer to choose?
- Family or 4 people and more: the premium CDG in a V-Class van.
- Couple or pair: the standard CDG, or the VIP door-to-door to save time.
- Arriving at Orly: the premium Orly, or line 14 if you travel light.
- Solo traveller on a tight budget: the shared shuttle, or the RER B from Roissy.
- Late arrival: a 24-hour transfer with flight tracking.
Booking at the right time
Book before you leave, especially in high season, and give your flight number and terminal. For other advance bookings, read booking ahead in Paris. Both airports are presented in the Paris airports.
