Galeries Lafayette Haussmann: Dome, Free Rooftop and Opening Hours
Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, in the 9th arrondissement, offers free access to its 1912 glass dome and its panoramic rooftop terrace, open every day. The store at 40 Boulevard Haussmann is open from 10am to 8:30pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 8pm on Sunday. From beneath the dome, head up through the floors to the 8th-floor terrace, with views of the Opéra Garnier, the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre; the only drawback is the crowds, especially at weekends. Highlights
The dome
Completed in 1912, the neo-Byzantine dome designed by architect Ferdinand Chanut is decorated with stained glass by master glassmaker Jacques Grüber. On the 3rd floor, the Glasswalk, a glass walkway suspended beneath the dome, lets you step out over the void for a few minutes, with a reservation.
The window displays
Before heading into the store, take a stroll past the window displays, all carefully decorated with a theme that changes constantly.
The view
The 8th-floor terrace is free, with no reservation needed, from 10am to 8pm (11am on Sundays); it may close temporarily in rain or strong wind. From there you can take in Paris's most beautiful landmarks: the Opéra Garnier, the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, Les Invalides and many more.

How to get there
The store is at 40 Boulevard Haussmann, in the 9th arrondissement. Metro Chaussée d'Antin-La Fayette (lines 7 and 9), right at the store, or Opéra (lines 3, 7 and 8) and Havre-Caumartin (lines 3 and 9). By RER A, get off at Auber station, a few minutes' walk away.
