Vanves flea market in Paris: Saturday and Sunday hours, prices and tips for bargain hunting
The Porte de Vanves flea market (14th arrondissement) takes place on Saturday and Sunday along avenue Georges-Lafenestre and avenue Marc-Sangnier. The city decree sets the brocante on Saturday from 7:00 to 14:00 and on Sunday from 7:30 to 14:00; on Sunday the new-goods sector stays open from 14:00 to 18:30 and the artists' square from 7:30 to 19:30. General-public sites simply say 7:00-14:00: arrive before 9:00. Entry is free. Smaller and cheaper than Saint-Ouen, it keeps the feel of a neighbourhood brocante.
Highlights

The brocante stalls
Crockery, linen, trinkets, books and small furniture line the pavements; prices are generally lower than at Saint-Ouen.

The market late in the morning
Sellers bargain more willingly late in the morning, when they want to avoid packing everything up again; the best pieces go early.

Tips
- Come before 9:00 for the best pieces, with cash (many stalls do not take cards) and a sturdy bag. Haggle politely: it is the rule. If you hesitate between the two big markets, Vanves suits small budgets and bric-a-brac fans, Saint-Ouen antique dealers and period furniture: see our page on the Saint-Ouen flea market and our guide to flea markets and brocantes in Paris. To combine it with a guided visit of the Montmartre area, take the time to compare offers before booking.
How to get there
