Musée Pasteur: Closed for Works, Reopening Announced for November 2028
The Musée Pasteur occupies the apartment where Louis Pasteur lived for the last seven years of his life (1888-1895), within the Institut Pasteur on rue du Docteur-Roux in the 15th arrondissement. A listed historic monument, it holds the Maison des Illustres label. Closed for the restoration and refit of the building, it is announced as closed until November 2028.
Highlights

Pasteur's apartment
The rooms where the scientist lived, including the drawing room, are preserved in their period decor. The visit also includes the Neo-Byzantine crypt where Pasteur and his wife are laid to rest, which is likewise closed during the works.

The scientific objects
One room presents instruments and items linked to Pasteur's work, notably on crystallography, fermentation, pasteurisation and the rabies vaccine.

Tips
No visit is possible, crypt included, before the announced reopening. In the meantime the museum offers online resources: virtual tours on Google Arts & Culture, downloadable themed exhibitions and videos of the building site. To extend the medical theme, the Museum of the History of Medicine is in the 5th arrondissement.
