Marché Raspail in Paris: Sunday Organic Market, Opening Times and Tips
The Marché Raspail, on boulevard Raspail between rue du Cherche-Midi and rue de Rennes (6th arrondissement), is a neighbourhood food market. On Tuesday and Friday it is a traditional market; on Sunday from 9am to 3pm it becomes the organic market, with about fifty certified organic producers and traders. It is one of the best-known organic markets in Paris, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Highlights

The Sunday organic market
Seasonal fruit and vegetables, bread, cheese, eggs, honey and prepared food, with certified organic stalls. It is the busiest day, with big crowds from late morning.

The Tuesday and Friday market
The traditional market fills the central strip of the boulevard: greengrocers, fishmongers, butchers, florists and regional food stalls. The atmosphere is calmer than at the Sunday organic market.
Lunch on the spot
Several stalls sell takeaway dishes (galettes, rotisserie chicken, world specialities): you can put together a picnic for the Luxembourg Gardens, ten minutes' walk away.

Tips
- Come before 11am for the best choice and slightly fewer people. Sources differ on the closing time of the Tuesday and Friday market (1:30pm according to the City of Paris, 2:30pm according to guides): count on 1:30pm to avoid disappointment. Bring a bag or tote and some cash; many stalls take cards but not all. Keep your belongings close in crowds.
How to get there
Metro Rennes (line 12), Sèvres-Babylone (lines 10 and 12) or Saint-Placide (line 4). The market is on boulevard Raspail, between rue du Cherche-Midi and rue de Rennes, Paris 6th.
