The Musée Jacquemart-André is a fine arts and decorative arts museum in Paris's 8th arrondissement; tickets €19, open every day from 10:00 to 18:00 (until 19:00 on weekends and 22:00 on Fridays). It is housed in a superb Second Empire mansion in the Haussmannian style and brings together works of art and furniture from Europe and the East collected by Édouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemart, a famous portrait painter.

The ground floor of the house

Home to a wealth of works from the Flemish and German schools, delicate furniture, detached frescoes, and tapestries.

The first floor of the house

Reserved for the Florentine and Venetian Renaissance period. Highlights include Canaletto's The Piazza San Marco and The Rialto Bridge, as well as Botticelli's Virgin and Child.

The rooms furnished as they were in the 19th century

The Musée Jacquemart-André also includes several rooms furnished to recreate the atmosphere of the 19th century: formal reception rooms, a winter garden, a monumental staircase, private apartments, and more.

Tips

Admission is €19 at the standard rate, €18 for over-65s, €16 for students, job seekers and 19-25s, and €10 for young people aged 7 to 18. It is free for under-7s, people with disabilities and their companion, journalists and tour guides. The museum has a café offering drinks and snacks, as well as a brunch on weekends.

How to get there

Located at 158 Boulevard Haussmann, the Musée Jacquemart-André is accessible via "Saint-Augustin," "Miromesnil," or "Saint-Philippe du Roule" stations, on metro lines 9 and 13. You can also get there by RER, getting off at "Charles de Gaulle-Étoile" station on line A, or by bus, via lines 22, 43, 52, 54, 28, 80, 83, 84, and 93.
