What happened on 26 September and 3 October 2026

On Saturday 26 September 2026, opening day of the Disney Halloween Festival, visitors arriving in the morning found signs saying the parks were full. This episode was mostly relayed by fan accounts and the American specialist press; to our knowledge, Disneyland Paris did not publish a detailed statement that day.
On Saturday 3 October 2026, the episode was far more widely discussed. Both parks, Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World (the name of the former Walt Disney Studios Park since 29 March 2026), reached maximum capacity. The official calendar showed the date as unavailable for registering undated tickets and Disneyland Passes, and visitors without a dated ticket or a reservation were turned away at the entrances. Holders of a dated ticket, or of a stay with a Disney hotel, were not affected. At 11:25 a.m., waits of 100 minutes were reported for Frozen Ever After, 85 minutes for Ratatouille and 70 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain, according to the specialist press.
The episode drove worldwide searches for "Disneyland Paris turns away visitors" in the following days. It was not a breakdown: it is the park's capacity rule, applied on a high-demand weekend, with the Halloween season and the novelty of World of Frozen, opened on 29 March 2026. Sources: specialist press (Inside the Magic, 3 October 2026) and the Disneyland Paris availability calendar; check the status of the day on the official website.
How entry works in 2026
| Ticket type | Date booking | Entry if the parks are full |
|---|---|---|
| Dated ticket (1 to 4 days) | Included: the date is chosen at purchase | Guaranteed for the chosen day |
| Stay with a Disney hotel | Included in the stay | Guaranteed according to the stay conditions |
| Undated ticket ("Liberté") | To be done on the official calendar, subject to places | Not guaranteed without a registered date |
| Disneyland Pass (annual pass) | To be done on the official calendar, subject to places | Not guaranteed: a Pass does not guarantee access when the parks are full |
| Purchase at the entrance | Not applicable | Only in certain cases and if capacity allows |
Prices seen in late September 2026: a dated 1-day / 1-park ticket costs from about €52 per adult in low season and up to about €150 on the busiest days; the 1-day / 1-park ticket bought at the ticket windows costs €129 per adult and €120 per child aged 3 to 11, much more than a dated ticket bought in advance. The refund and change conditions of a dated ticket (some "Bon Plan" fares are non-refundable) are in the terms of your ticket.

What to do if you are turned away

- Stay calm and keep the evidence: booking confirmation, ticket, payment receipt, screenshots of the calendar and photos of the "Parks full" signs, with the time.
- Ask the guest staff what is offered: another date, an exchange or a refund. The answer depends on your ticket type and cannot be guessed: check with the park on the day.
- If you had a dated ticket, the park owed you entry on that date: write to customer service with your evidence and say what you want (refund or a new date).
- If you had an undated ticket or a Pass, look at what the terms you accepted provide: access is not guaranteed on days when capacity is reached.
- With no reply, contact your bank or the insurance attached to your card, or a consumer mediator. Keep all exchanges.

The busiest days and periods
| Period | Why it is busy |
|---|---|
| Saturdays and Sundays, especially in season | Local visitors and tourists at the same time |
| Wednesdays during school terms | Many French children have no school |
| 26 September to 1 November 2026 | Disney Halloween Festival |
| 17 October to 2 November 2026 | French All Saints holidays (all zones); British and Dutch school holidays in late October depending on the region |
| 19 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 | French Christmas holidays (school resumes on 4 January 2027) |
| February, Easter and summer holidays | Heavy crowds, with dates varying by zone |
British and Dutch holiday dates differ from one region to another: check them for your country. For autumn, our guide to All Saints holidays in Paris with kids and the one on Halloween in Paris give the other outings of the period; for December, see Christmas in Paris.
The best days and times
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays outside French school holidays are generally the quietest days, and dated tickets are cheapest then (avoid Wednesdays during school terms). In October 2026 the parks mostly open from 9:00 to 22:00, with a 9:30 opening on weekdays until 18 October; hours vary, check the official app.
- Arrive before opening to ride the most popular attractions before the crowds.
- Disney hotel guests get Extra Magic Time, access to a selection of attractions one hour before the park opens to the public.
- Keep the evening for the night show in front of the castle: crowds thin out at the end of the day.
- Follow the waiting times in the official app.
- Disney Premier Access, a paid option, shortens waits on a selection of attractions; the free FastPass no longer exists.
Getting from Paris to Disneyland

- RER A, direction Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy (terminus), from Châtelet – Les Halles, Gare de Lyon or Auber: about 40 minutes, with a Métro-Train-RER ticket at €2.55 (2026 fare). The station is a few minutes' walk from the entrances. How tickets work is explained in our guide to the Paris metro and RER; a visitor pass can also cover this trip, see Navigo or Paris Visite.
- TGV: the Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy station, at the same spot, receives direct TGV trains from Charles-de-Gaulle airport and several major French cities.
- Magical Shuttle from Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports: €24 per adult and €11 per child (one way, free for under 3s).
- By car: A4 motorway towards Chessy, exit Parc Disneyland.
Plan an early arrival: an RER taken at opening time avoids the queue at the security checks.
