Street or underground car park
| Option | Worth knowing |
|---|---|
| On-street | Pay at the meter or by app; limited stay; dearer in the centre and the west |
| Underground car park | Safer spaces, hourly rate or flat fee; compare the operator's price lists |
| Outside Paris | Cheaper on the outskirts, then metro or RER into the centre |
Rules to know
On-street parking is paid in advance, at the meter or through an app. A Crit'Air sticker is required to drive in the Greater Paris low-emission zone: check the restrictions in force for your vehicle before leaving. Leave nothing visible in the car.
Doing without a car
For most visits a car is not needed: see our guide to the metro and RER and taxis. Arrive by train, park near your departure station (see car rental near the stations), or take a private transfer from the airport: airport transfer.
