The addresses at a glance

Dinner: the two bistros to book

Le Bon Georges is a traditional bistro on rue Saint-Georges, which we rank among the best in Paris. It is a bit pricey and in demand: book several days ahead. Frenchie Pigalle, on rue Victor-Massé, serves excellent food at a very reasonable price; booking is essential there too. Le Pantruche, nearby, is the third safe option (guides: closed at weekends). To compare with the rest of the capital, see the best traditional bistros in Paris.

Morning and snack

Mamiche, on rue Condorcet, sells an orange-blossom brioche to eat on the walk. For the district's coffee and brunch, see our specialty coffee and brunch in the 9th. On rue des Martyrs, bakeries and cheesemongers make picnics easy.

Low budget, no booking

Bouillon Pigalle, boulevard de Clichy, serves traditional dishes at low prices; arrive early to avoid the queue. Our guide to Parisian bouillons compares the addresses. For big historic dining rooms, see the historic brasseries.
