Beneath the Pont de l’Alma, the Paris Sewer Museum introduces you to part of the city’s underground network. The route combines an exhibition about sanitation with working sewer galleries. Reopened in 2021 after renovation, it explains the work of sewer workers in the 7th arrondissement.
Highlights

Working sewer channels
Observe the channels and equipment used to manage the flow of water. This section reveals how a network normally hidden from the street operates.

The sewer cleaning ball
This sphere illustrates a method of cleaning pipes. Water pressure drives the ball forward, dislodging deposits along the way.
