Beside the Luxembourg Garden, this museum in the sixth arrondissement hosts temporary exhibitions. It has no permanent collection and closes between exhibitions. Its history goes back to the opening of a public museum in 1750. From 16 September 2026 to 10 January 2027, the Andy Warhol exhibition focuses on drawing and image-making.

The façade on rue de Vaugirard
Behind the railings, a brick and stone façade marks the museum entrance. The present building received the collections in 1886 after they left the Luxembourg Palace.

Admission is €14, or €10 at the concession rate, with a €1.50 supplement per ticket bought online (prices checked in September 2026). Under-16s enter free. Booking a time slot is advised; arrive within half an hour after your chosen time. Leaving the exhibition is final.
