Parc de Bagatelle: rose garden, prices, opening hours and access
The Parc de Bagatelle is a garden in the Bois de Boulogne, in the 16th arrondissement, famous for its rose garden. Its château, built in 1777 for the Comte d'Artois, is a neoclassical "folly" put up in a few weeks after a bet with Marie-Antoinette. The park is part of the Jardin botanique de Paris. Entry is paid from April to September (about €2.70 full price, €1.55 reduced according to Paris Je T'aime; €2.50 and €1.50 on other pages, so check paris.fr) and free the rest of the year.
Highlights

The rose garden
Thousands of rose bushes are shown in beds and on pergolas; the flowering peak is usually in June. An international competition for new roses is held here every year.
Spring
In April cherry trees, tulips and daffodils bloom in the park.
The lawns and the small buildings
The château, the orangery, the water-lily ponds and the peacocks strolling around give the whole place a countryside feel a few minutes from Paris.
