Fondation Louis Vuitton: Tickets, Hours, Shuttle and Access
The Fondation Louis Vuitton is a contemporary art museum in the Bois de Boulogne; tickets €18, access via Les Sablons metro station (line 1). It reopened on 9 October 2026 and is open every day except Tuesday, from 11:00 to 20:00 (10:00 on weekends, until 21:00 on Fridays). Inaugurated in 2014, it is housed in a building by Frank Gehry, instantly recognizable with its twelve glass sails that seem swollen by the wind, like the sails of a boat. It hosts both its permanent collection and major temporary exhibitions devoted to modern and contemporary art, including "Gustave Fayet, Collectionneur-Créateur" (9 October 2026 to 8 March 2027). The architecture alone is worth the trip: on some days the foundation even offers a ticket for the building visit only, without the exhibition, at a reduced rate.

The glass sails
The twelve curved sails that make up the facade are the building's architectural signature. Their steel-and-glass structure took remarkable feats of engineering to create this frozen sense of movement.

Flooded with natural light through the glass sails, the interior space unfolds across several levels and links the different exhibition rooms together.

Tips
- Tickets cost €18 (€10 for under-26s, students and teachers; €5 for under-18s), free on Thursdays for students with proof. Liquids are forbidden inside and bulky bags must be left in the cloakroom: travel light to avoid losing time at the entrance. The Foundation stands next to the Jardin d'Acclimatation, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne: the two combine easily in a single day. Allow about 2 hours on site. A Premium ticket (fast-track entry, audio guide) is available if you want to skip the queue.
How to get there
The nearest metro station is "Les Sablons" (line 1), about 950 meters on foot. Bus 73 serves the "Les Sablons" stop, and a shuttle runs regularly between the Fondation and Place Charles de Gaulle - Étoile, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe. The shuttle leaves from Charles de Gaulle-Étoile station (44 avenue de Friedland, exit 2), roughly every 20 minutes during opening hours, on presentation of a valid entry ticket; check its fare on the official website.
