On the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is a contemporary art museum housed in a building designed by Frank Gehry, instantly recognizable for its twelve glass sails that seem to billow in the wind, like a ship's sails. Opened in 2014, it hosts both its permanent collection and major temporary exhibitions devoted to modern and contemporary art. The architecture alone is worth the trip: on certain days the foundation even offers a dedicated ticket for the building itself, without an exhibition, at a reduced price.
