Puy du Fou from Paris: Train, Shuttle, Ticket Prices and Whether to Stay Overnight

Updated on October 26, 2026

The Puy du Fou, at Les Épesses in the Vendée, is not easy to visit in a single day from Paris: the most practical way is the TGV from Paris-Montparnasse to Angers (about 1h30), then the park shuttle (about 1h15, from €19 one way and €38 return according to the park's site). A 1-day adult ticket costs about €47 booked at least 72 hours ahead and €59 on site (third-party sites for 2026, to be confirmed). To enjoy the park and the Cinéscénie, stay overnight nearby.

The park's shows

The park's shows

The Puy du Fou is best known for its large open-air historical shows, such as "Le Signe du Triomphe" and "Le Dernier Panache". Check the day's timetable on arrival to fit in the shows you want.

The Vikings and other eras

The Vikings and other eras

The park runs through Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the modern era and rural Vendée, with horse, bird-of-prey, Viking and knight shows. Queues are shorter early in the morning.

The Cinéscénie

A giant night show performed in summer and early autumn; show-only ticket from €33 for an adult, park plus Cinéscénie from €76 (third-party sites, to be confirmed). The combined ticket cannot be bought on site.

Tips

  • The simplest is to book a dated ticket online at least 72 hours ahead, much cheaper than the on-site price. In 2026 the park is open from 4 April to early November, then for the Christmas period from 18 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 (dates from third-party sites, to be confirmed on the official site). The Les Herbiers station will not exist before 2030: there is no direct train. By car, allow about 4 hours from Paris. A day trip remains very long: for the Cinéscénie, plan an overnight stay.

How to get there

TGV from Paris-Montparnasse to Angers-Saint-Laud (about 1h30; €45 to €100 according to the Rome2rio aggregator, to be confirmed), then the Puy du Fou shuttle (about 1h15, up to three departures a day). By car: about 4 hours via the A11 and A87. Address: Les Épesses, 85590 Vendée.

Opening hours

Best: Weekdays, May-June or September
4 April to early November 2026, then 18 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 (dates to be confirmed on the official site; show times per the day's programme)
