The Grand Palais de Glace, from 13 December 2026 to 6 January 2027

The nave of the Grand Palais turned into an ice rink, swept by beams of light

This is the most spectacular rink of the winter: 2,700 m² of ice laid out under the nave and glass roof of the Grand Palais, billed by the organiser as the largest indoor ice rink in the world. After the 2025-2026 edition (13 December 2025 to 7 January 2026), the event, renamed the Grand Palais de Glace, is announced from Sunday 13 December 2026 to Wednesday 6 January 2027, closing at 6pm on 24 and 31 December. Ticket sales open in mid-October 2026.

There are three sessions a day:

  • Morning, 10am to 1pm: €27 per adult, €15 per child;
  • Afternoon, 2pm to 7pm: €32 per adult, €18 per child;
  • Night session, 8pm to 1am, with lights and a DJ: €39, single price;
  • Premium Pass: €50. Free for children under 3.

The ticket includes skate hire (EU sizes 25 to 50); you can also bring your own. Tickets are sold online only, cannot be exchanged or refunded, and nobody gets in without one. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent during the day, and under-16s at the night session; a separate area of ice is set aside for little ones. Gloves are compulsory. The entrance is at 3 avenue du Général-Eisenhower (8th), metro Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13) or Franklin-Roosevelt (line 9). For the Christmas holidays, book as soon as sales open: weekend and holiday afternoons sell out first.

The other pop-up rinks: what is already known

Apart from the Grand Palais, no Paris pop-up rink had published its 2026 dates at the end of September. The details below are those of winter 2025-2026: these events usually return at the same time of year, but there is no guarantee they will be renewed.

La Défense: 540 m² of real ice at the Christmas market

The Christmas market chalets on the La Défense esplanade in December 2025

The Paris La Défense Christmas market is confirmed from Thursday 12 November to Thursday 31 December 2026. In 2025 it had a 540 m² natural-ice rink at the foot of the Grande Arche, open from 13 November to 28 December, in 30-minute slots: €10 per adult and €6 per child on weekdays before 5pm (except Wednesday afternoons), €12.50 and €8 in the evening, on Wednesday afternoons and at weekends, plus €2.50 for skate hire. Open from age 3, gloves compulsory. Details of the 2026 rink were not yet online. Metro La Défense (line 1) or RER A.

Galeries Lafayette: a small rink on the roof

From 1 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the panoramic rooftop of Galeries Lafayette (40 boulevard Haussmann, 9th) hosted a synthetic-ice rink of about 170 m², facing the Opéra and the Eiffel Tower. 30-minute sessions by reservation: €16 per adult, €7.50 per child aged 4 to 14, skates included; from age 4, gloves compulsory. The 2026 dates will be announced with the store's Christmas events; the windows and the tree are covered in our guide to the Christmas windows of the department stores.

Parc André-Citroën, 15th arrondissement town hall, Tuileries and Parc des Princes

  • Patins en Folie, in Parc André-Citroën (15th): from 22 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, 600 m² of real ice, the largest outdoor rink in Paris, with a 100 m² children's area. Entry by reservation, skates included (strap-on skates for shoes up to EU size 28), €9 to €17 depending on age and time slot; gloves compulsory. Metro Balard (line 8) or Javel-André Citroën (line 10, RER C).
  • 15th arrondissement town hall rink (31 rue Péclet): third edition from 13 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, 200 m² of ice, €9 from age 12 and €7 for under-12s, 10am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and until 10pm Friday to Sunday; gloves compulsory. Metro Vaugirard (line 12).
  • Tuileries Christmas market: from 15 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, a 250 m² synthetic rink at €10, skates included, between the big wheel and the chalets of the Tuileries Garden.
  • Winter in Paris, at the Parc des Princes: from 13 December 2025 to 2 January 2026, a 225 m² synthetic rink behind the goal, open from age 3 as an add-on to the stadium tour (see our Parc des Princes guide).

Hôtel de Ville and Eiffel Tower: rinks that are not coming back

The large rink on the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville, free to enter apart from skate hire, has not been set up since winter 2018-2019: the City dropped it for environmental reasons. The rink on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower also disappeared in the late 2010s. Neither is announced for 2026: be wary of pages that still present them as open.

Rinks open all winter

To skate without booking for a few euros, central Paris has two public rinks open from September to May.

Sonja-Henie rink, at the Accor Arena (12th)

The Accor Arena, whose Sonja-Henie rink sits on the Parc de Bercy side

Tucked inside the Accor Arena, with its entrance on the Parc de Bercy side, the Sonja-Henie rink has about 1,500 m² of ice and is also home to the Français Volants ice hockey club. The official 2026-2027 calendar lists, outside school holidays, sessions on Wednesday 3pm to 6pm, Saturday 3pm to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 12pm and 3pm to 6pm, plus DJ nights on Friday and Saturday from 9:30pm to 12:30am. During school holidays, a 2pm to 6pm session is added Monday to Friday. The rink is closed on 25 December and 1 January, and on some sports event days: check the calendar before you go.

High-season prices (September to March): €5.50 during the day, €7.70 in the evening, reduced to €4.40 and €6.60 for students under 26 and some Paris residents with proof; skate hire €3.80, helmet €1.60. Tickets are sold on site only, with the ticket office opening 30 minutes before each session. Minimum age 4; under-10s must be accompanied by an adult, as must under-15s at the 9:30pm sessions; a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads are compulsory under age 8. Metro Bercy (lines 6 and 14). To make an outing of it, Bercy Village is a ten-minute walk away.

Pailleron rink (19th)

At 32 rue Édouard-Pailleron, near the Buttes-Chaumont, the 800 m² municipal rink is run by Vert Marine in the same sports centre as the swimming pool. Public hours during school term: Monday 12pm-10:30pm, Tuesday 2pm-5pm, Wednesday 2pm-10:30pm, Thursday 2pm-5pm and 7:15pm-10:30pm, Friday 12pm-5pm and 7:15pm-10:30pm, Saturday 2pm-10:30pm, Sunday and public holidays 9am-1pm and 2pm-8pm. During the short school holidays, it opens daily from 1pm to 10:30pm (1pm-6pm on Sunday). Annual closure from June to August.

It is the cheapest rink in Paris: €4.50 entry from October to April (€3.80 reduced), skate hire €3.50, helmet €1.30, gloves on sale for €3.50. Metro Bolivar (line 7 bis).

Gloves, age, skates: the rules to know

  • Gloves: compulsory at the Grand Palais, La Défense, Galeries Lafayette, Parc André-Citroën and the 15th arrondissement town hall. Bring a pair, even thin ones: when gloves are available on site, they are sold, not lent.
  • Minimum age: 3 at La Défense and the Parc des Princes, 4 at the Accor Arena and Galeries Lafayette; the Grand Palais is open to all, free under 3.
  • Supervision: an adult must skate with under-14s at the Grand Palais during the day (under-16s at the night session) and with under-10s at the Accor Arena.
  • Skates: included in the ticket at the pop-up rinks (except La Défense), extra at the municipal rinks. Strap-on skates, which attach to shoes, suit small feet.
  • Booking: compulsory online for the Grand Palais, Galeries Lafayette and Parc André-Citroën; unnecessary at Pailleron and the Accor Arena, where you pay at the ticket office.
  • What to wear: warm trousers rather than jeans, long socks, and a change of clothes for children, who often fall on the wet ice of outdoor rinks.
