Stops to remember: Gambetta (Père Lachaise Cemetery).

Hours and tickets

First train around 5:30 on all lines; last train at the terminus around 1:15 from Sunday to Thursday and around 2:15 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays (2026 times taken from Paris je t'aime, an unofficial source: confirm on the line page at ratp.fr). Expect a train every 2 to 6 minutes during the day. After the last metro, the Noctilien night bus takes over. A single Métro-Train-RER ticket costs 2.55 EUR (fare taken from Paris je t'aime, to confirm on ratp.fr) and allows changes between metro lines; paper tickets have no longer been sold since November 2025, so load the ticket on a Navigo Easy card or in the app. For several days compare Navigo Easy and Paris Visite.

Works and disruptions in 2026

No interruption of this line was confirmed in the sources consulted for November 2026. Weekend and summer closures are announced in advance at ratp.fr/travaux: check the day before you travel.

Tips

Avoid 8:00-9:30 and 17:00-19:00, when trains are full. It is one of the two smallest lines of the network, with 7bis: only 4 stations. It links Porte des Lilas to Gambetta, the station nearest the Gambetta entrance of Père Lachaise cemetery; to go further, change at Gambetta (line 3) or at Porte des Lilas (line 11).

The official metro, RER and tram map can be downloaded free at ratp.fr/plan-metro (PDF and interactive map). We do not reproduce the map: it belongs to RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités.
